Driven by Passion While Fighting For Change.
With personal experience gained over many years, alongside increasingly targeted research efforts, the team at K9Lives understands that the road ahead is paved with challenges. A greater effort is required to accelerate the intervention to a pace that allows us to beat the curve, while reducing the misery of our four-legged friends as quickly as possible.
We have immersed ourselves in this life-changing mission, with hands-on advocacy efforts and outreach programmes that align with our growth-oriented goals, targets and objectives. We strive to be a vehicle for change, and we are proud to imagine a world where animals are treated with respect, dignity and empathy, while also gaining the opportunity to live the healthy life they deserve.
When powerful voices come together to take action, powerful change happens.
Resigned acceptance is not the answer.
Impactful change is the solution.
Many around the world desire to help, but simply don’t know where to start. They may believe that the problem is too big to fix, or too widespread to be solved. They may feel hopeless and helpless, mistakenly believing that just one person cannot make a difference.

Sandipa – Founder and Chair
Sandipa founded K9Lives with a simple but powerful belief: every animal deserves compassion, dignity and the opportunity to live free from unnecessary suffering.
For many years, she has devoted countless hours to supporting the welfare of stray dogs and cats, particularly in India, where millions of animals face daily challenges including hunger, disease, injury and neglect. Her commitment extends far beyond fundraising. She works closely with trusted rescue organisations, animal welfare groups and local volunteers to ensure that support reaches those who need it most.
Driven by compassion and determination, Sandipa believes that lasting change comes through education, humane sterilisation programmes, vaccination campaigns and improved access to veterinary care. These practical, long-term solutions not only improve the lives of animals but also help create healthier and safer communities.
Under her leadership, K9Lives has supported projects that provide life-saving veterinary treatment, sterilisation, vaccinations and welfare initiatives, while building strong relationships with organisations that share the charity’s values.
Despite balancing her professional responsibilities with her personal commitment to animal welfare, Sandipa continues to dedicate an extraordinary amount of her time to advancing the charity’s mission. At home, she cares for several cats, four of whom were once strays themselves. Looking after rescued animals is not simply part of her work—it is part of her daily life. Her commitment is driven not by recognition, but by the belief that every animal deserves kindness, protection and hope.
Through K9Lives, her vision is to create a future where compassion replaces suffering, responsible animal welfare becomes the norm, and every contribution—no matter how small—helps transform lives.
For Sandipa, animal welfare is not simply a cause—it is a lifelong commitment that continues to shape both her work and her everyday life.
We strongly believe that each step forward is a step in the right direction. YOU can help us make a difference, beginning today.

Ajay – Finance Director

Ajay Sagar – Finance Director
Ajay Sagar is our Finance Director with more than 40 years of experience working in both public practice and the corporate sector. As Finance Director of K9Lives, he brings extensive financial expertise and a strong commitment to ensuring that the charity operates with transparency, integrity and accountability.
Throughout his career, Ajay has believed in using his professional skills to support charitable organisations and has been actively involved with causes close to his heart, including the British Heart Foundation, Great Ormond Street Hospital and K9Lives.
Ironically, as a child and young adult, Ajay was afraid of animals following an unpleasant experience. Over the years, however, that fear was replaced by admiration as he witnessed the loyalty, resilience and unconditional love that animals bring to people’s lives. Today, he is proud to support K9Lives and help improve the welfare of stray dogs and cats through responsible financial stewardship and good governance.
Ajay believes that every donation should be managed carefully and transparently so that it delivers the greatest possible benefit to the animals and communities the charity serves
